TIPPING POINT SOLUTIONS, INC. HONORS 92 YEAR-OLD WORLD WAR II VETERAN WITH FILM SCREENING ABOUT JAPANESE/AMERICAN NISEI SOLDIERS
Denver, CO – October 19, 2016 – Earlier this year, Tipping Point Solutions (TPS), in partnership with the Military Intelligence Soldiers Heritage Center at Fort Huachuca, Arizona created a series of short documentary films highlighting the importance of military intelligence throughout history. One of these films was to honor the efforts and heroics of Japanese/American Soldiers in World War II. At the height of paranoia during the months following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, thousands of Japanese/American citizens were placed in internment camps simply because they looked like the enemy. Remarkably, hundreds of these Japanese-American citizens enlisted in the U.S. Army in order to prove their patriotism and allegiance to the United States.
One of these brave “Nisei” (meaning second generation Japanese) Soldiers, Sam Terasaki, grew up here in Denver in the North Cherry Creek area. Sam Terasaki enlisted in the Army and fought valiantly on the front lines for a country despite the nation’s mistrust of people that looked like him. Tipping Point Solutions interviewed Sam as part of a short documentary film focusing on the contributions of Nisei Soldiers and have scheduled a screening of the film for Sam and his fellow residents at Brookdale Mountain View Senior Living Solutions in celebration of this upcoming Veteran’s Day. The film screening in honor of Sam Terasaki will coincide with the Brookdale weekly tradition to honor Veterans every Wednesday.
Tipping Point Solutions would like to invite Media coverage of the event taking place on Wednesday, November 2nd at 3 pm in order to further share Sam’s story and honor the Veterans that he fought alongside. The event, location is Brookdale Mountain View Senior Living Solutions, 8101 E. Mississippi Ave in Denver, CO 80247.
