The Army Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Training Suite is a 28-hour training suite developed on behalf of the U.S. Army Medical Department (AMEDD). The course supports their ongoing effort to transform their healthcare system from a traditional healthcare model to a Patient-Centered Care model.
Since the primary obstacle of managing change is to solicit acknowledgment and acceptance of the new practice, we set out to utilize patient-centered scenarios, allowing the learner to compare and contrast the traditional healthcare approach with that of the PCMH care model. In this way, the product methodically demonstrates how these newly-learned behaviors can positively impact the organization, and ultimately, patient outcomes. The result is a highly immersive and informative training application that educates, reinforces these concepts, and provides practice opportunities so that the learner can witness the application first hand.
Winner of a Telly Award and two Omni Awards for outstanding achievement in education and film-based training, the PCMH Training Suite covers 16 individual PCMH core competencies and has proven itself a key contributor to the success of the AMEDD’s transformation effort.
